Ingredients

  • 2 ozjapanese whisky
  • 4 ozclub soda

Instructions

Fill a tall glass with ice to the top. Pour whisky over the ice and stir 13 times to chill. Top with cold, well-carbonated soda water. Stir once vertically. Garnish with a lemon twist expressed over the surface.

Balance

Use a light, delicate Japanese whisky (Suntory Toki, Nikka Days) — not a peaty Scotch. The soda should be ice-cold and highly carbonated. The ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:3.
