Ingredients

  • 2 ozaged rum
  • ½ ozorange curaçao
  • ½ ozorgeat
  • 1 ozfresh lime juice
  • 1 cupice

Instructions

Combine rum, curaçao, orgeat, lime juice, and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth and slushy. Pour into a tiki mug or hurricane glass. Float ½ oz dark rum on top. Garnish with a mint sprig and lime wheel.

Technique

Blend until completely smooth. The dark rum float on top adds visual drama and a hit of boozy richness as you sip. Use a straw.

Balance

Frozen drinks need slightly more sweetness and acidity than shaken versions — cold dulls both. Add a touch more lime and orgeat than you would for a shaken Mai Tai.
