Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750ml)red wine750 ml
- 2 ozbrandy60 ml
- 1 oztriple sec30 ml
- 4 ozorange juice120 ml
- 2 ozsimple syrup60 ml
- 2 cupsmixed fruit (orange, apple, berries)
Instructions
Combine wine, brandy, triple sec, orange juice, and simple syrup in a large pitcher. Add sliced fruit. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is better). Serve over ice with a splash of club soda. Serves 6-8.
Sips & Tips
Technique
Use an inexpensive, fruity red wine — Garnacha or Tempranillo are traditional. Don't use anything you wouldn't drink on its own. Refrigerate at least 2 hours for the fruit to infuse.
Balance
The brandy adds backbone and the triple sec adds citrus depth. Taste before serving and adjust sweetness. A splash of soda at serving time adds refreshing fizz.
