Ingredients

  • 1 ozgin
  • ½ ozfresh lemon juice
  • ½ ozsimple syrup
  • 3 ozchampagne

Instructions

Combine gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a champagne flute. Top with chilled champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Sips & Tips

Technique

Shake the gin-lemon-syrup base first, then top with champagne in the glass — never shake champagne. Pour the champagne slowly to avoid overflow.

Balance

Use a dry champagne or Crémant — the gin and lemon provide enough flavor. This is one of the most elegant celebration cocktails. Named for the French 75mm field gun — it hits hard.
