Sweet Vermouth

The backbone of the Negroni, the Manhattan, and the Boulevardier. Sweet vermouth is an aromatized, fortified wine infused with botanicals — herbs, roots, bark, and spices. Italian vermouths tend to be richer and more vanilla-forward; French expressions are lighter and more herbal. Always refrigerate after opening.

Styles & Brands

Italian Sweet Vermouth

Rich, full-bodied, and bittersweet. Italian sweet vermouths are the classic choice for Negronis and Manhattans — vanilla, dried fruit, and gentle bitterness.

  • Carpano Antica Formula

The gold standard. Rich vanilla, dried cherry, and a complex bitterness that elevates any stirred cocktail. Worth every penny in a Manhattan.

  • Cocchi Vermouth di Torino

Bright and elegant with citrus peel, cacao, and a balanced bitterness. More refined than Carpano — beautiful in a Negroni where you want the gin to shine through.

  • Dolin Rouge

Lighter and more delicate than Italian heavyweights. Herbal and slightly fruity — excellent when you want vermouth to support rather than dominate.
