Ingredients
- 2 ozvodka60 ml
- ½ ozkahlúa15 ml
- 1 ozespresso30 ml
- ¼ ozsimple syrup7 ml
Instructions
Brew a fresh shot of espresso and let it cool slightly (30 seconds). Combine vodka, Kahlúa, espresso, and simple syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Double-strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with three coffee beans.

Technique
The espresso should be freshly brewed — the crema creates the signature foam. Shake harder and longer than any other cocktail. The three coffee beans represent health, wealth, and happiness.
Balance
Dick Bradsell's original is less sweet than most bar versions. The coffee should be the star, not the sugar. Use good espresso and you won't need much Kahlúa.
